Introduction

Welcome to Stockey ("the App"). By accessing or using

the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions

("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must cease using the App

immediately.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old or have parental/guardian consent to

use the App. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this

requirement.

Use of the App

The App is provided for informational, educational and entertainment purposes, allowing users to perform simulated trading with fake money. No real financial transactions or investments are conducted within the App.

The App also provides:

Educational videos sourced from publicly available YouTube content.
AI-powered tools, including a virtual assistant/chatbot, to help users learn about trading and reflect on their simulated portfolio activity.

The AI assistant is powered by OpenAI and may generate educational responses based on your in-app activity. These features are for informational use only and do not constitute financial advice.

Account Registration

Users can register using their email or via third-party platforms such as Google or Apple.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account.

User Responsibilities

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You must not misuse

the App, including attempting to gain unauthorized access to our

systems or interfering with its operation.

Advertising

The App may display advertisements, including those served through Google AdMob. Ad preferences can be managed via your

device settings or Google’s Ad Settings.

Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services including:

Firestore: To store and manage user portfolios and trading activity.
OpenAI API: To provide AI-powered features such as content generation or responses within the app. Use of the OpenAI API is subject to OpenAI’s own Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
YouTube Data API: To display educational and market-related video content. Use of the YouTube API is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. The App does not access or store personal YouTube account data.

Third-Party Brokerage Connections

The App offers optional integration with third-party brokerage service providers to enhance your paper-trading experience. If you choose to connect your brokerage account, the connection and data exchange occur directly between you and that provider through their official API.

We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any brokerage provider, and the integration is offered solely for your convenience. Your use of such integrations is governed by the terms and privacy policy of the respective provider.

Stockey securely stores authentication tokens (OAuth credentials) provided by the brokerage platform, used only to maintain your authorised connection. These tokens do not include your password and can be revoked or deleted at any time by disconnecting your account.

You acknowledge that Stockey does not execute real trades or hold client funds and that all brokerage interactions occur independently of the App.

AI-Generated Content and Limitations

Some features within Stockey utilise artificial intelligence services provided by OpenAI to generate insights about your virtual portfolio. By using these features, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

The content provided by AI is for informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute financial advice, investment guidance, or an offer to buy/sell securities.
AI-generated insights are based on your actions in a virtual environment, they may not reflect real market conditions.
You are solely responsible for any decisions made in response to AI outputs within the app.
Stockey and its developers are not liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from your use of AI-generated content.

Stockey reserves the right to disable or modify AI-powered features at any time.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages

arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to direct,

indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

We are not responsible for the performance, security, or data handling of any third-party service or brokerage account you choose to connect through the App.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia.

Any disputes will be resolved under Australian jurisdiction.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate your access to the App at our sole

discretion if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, you must

cease using the App immediately.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be effective

upon posting within the App. Your continued use of the App constitutes

acceptance of the revised Terms.
